Riding (Video)

Hey Everyone,

Dad and I have spent 5 days on the bike making our way to Rishikesh and Dhanaulti. Back roads have afforded incredibly vast vistas and more rugged riding.

The 3 day Dhanaulti trip was a 6 man affair and fully filmed. The 5 hours of footage Bikku shot included: our accidental rendezvous at an army outpost (which made quite a positive stir), Dad beating me in chess while we perched above the emerald valley in which Dehradun is nestled, rest stops, roof top camp fires, friends and fellowship. Oh, and of course riding; Dad’s been in the saddle over 13 hours now!

As Dad and I were riding He said: “It’s beautiful; its all so beautiful. I’m having fun!” it was awesome to hear Pops speak it out. Latter He let out a whoop and started talking about how big God is… I was taken aback :-)

It will be hard leaving Issy (the bike) behind, but tomorrow we are off to Nepal where we’ll meet up with Mom and Jenny. The girls totally surprised me back when they decided to make the trek, but as fate would have it, they’ve really rallied to the cause. They will arrive in Pokhara on the 11th and be there nearly 3 weeks! I’m excited to start the family chapter and so is Dad. He’s been asking when were going to see Mom for several days now.

When you think of us please put in a word with the Big Man. We will be traveling two days to arrive in Pokhara and the foot travel from train to bus etc is on my mind. This adventure has proven extremely rewarding, yet caring for Dad demands a lot from me – sometimes it is hard. Please pray that when Dad’s dis-ease manifests more prominently, I will have fullness of Spirit and be able to draw on it abundantly.

Love to you all,
-Jonathan
